Dennis Haley's first release for Neverwhere Records fillied with wonderful space music textures and themes. This CD is a synth lovers delight with over 59 minutes of thick pads, delicate flutes and intricate rhytmns.
The title track was composed during a period where communication seemed impossible, in some ways it had completely broken down. The dark mood that underscores this piece is a result of that communication breakdown. Many instruments came together to build this sonic landscape beginning with a homemade sample of the Polysix’s and a Jupiter-6’s dual filter sweeps sampled by and played on the TX-16W. Industrial noise was then sprinkled here and there from the K-250 and Vintage Keys. Fat bass, lush strings and flowing lead lines emanate from the D-50, Jupiter-6 and DW-8000. The intricate motifs of this piece are created with TX-81Z, K5 and DW-8000. The contemplative section that comes in about midway through the piece employs D-50 strings and a sample & hold patch created on a sorely missed ARP-2600. Percussion and assorted rhythms are realized on the MV-30. The finale utilizes the K-250 flute and DW-8000 strings to close on a sadly triumphant note. (excerpt from liner notes)
