1997 production from Steven D. Stokes, aka Rev Fever. This CD is beautiful electronic space music, soundscapes, and delightfully musical ambient washes.

This is top notch music for this genre. We highly recommend Elemental - Lux Aeternae.

This CD is all instrumental electronic music using mainly analog synthesizers and sequencers, with some digital synthesizers and some sampling, heavily influenced by the electronic musics of Europe, and the "Berlin school", in the 70s' to the mid 80's.
Stokes says:

I have no copy about myself, and am generally a private person who really doesn't have much to say about myself, personally. I would rather just let the music "do the taking"...

"Hello, here's a copy of my CD for you to hear"...

This is what Steven D. Stokes, a guy that has previously been completely unknown to the reviewer, wrote in his letter accompanied by his CD. And in the postscript: "I was given your address by someone on the internet. I have never seen the magazine."

Well,I don't mind about that. But you could have warned us in advance Mr.Stokes. Because what followed just a few minutes later while listening to this CD, wasn't easy to absorb:

Eight overwhelming electronicals (2:55 to 16:42) which sound everything but the first floor of electronic music. In contrary: I first expected that a well-known synth maniac changed his name to find out how easy it would be to cheat me....

Not with me!! After listening several times- accompanied by increasing passion - we contacted a well-known label and asked if they would be interested in the rights for the German market in order to bring this CD as fast as possible to the German people.

1: Because then the mysterious Mr. Stokes has to show his identity...
2: Because a German label would help several people that might be interested in this CD save money when importing it from the States.
3: This first shot (?),which has been made without MIDI or computers, simply has to appear in EVERY collection of electronic music.

It's astonishing which superb sounds Steven "Elemental" Stokes uses to enrich the traditional electronic music.There's a shade of "Berliner Schule", as well as the early minimal compositions of Terry Riley and the soundtracks of Mark Isham. The clear bell-like sounds in "Rexa Calculha" reminds me of the magical soundtrack of the film "Made in Heaven" (1987) by Alan Rudolph.
