This ambient electronic music was performed by Symmetry at the grand
opening for an exhibition of Canadian holographic artwork presented
by the Museum of Holography in New York City on January 19th, 1991.
The tracks performed at the event were carefully selected from a body of
original music containing sixteen hours worth of previously recorded material.
The diversity of styles reflect the variety of art displayed at the
exhibit and was meant to enhance each artist's work without overwhelming
the guests at the reception at the same time.
The resulting effect is a music that is soothing and exciting as well as
thought-provoking.
Symmetry is JEM and JR.
Although Symmetry consists primarily of JEM (Jose Murcia), the other
original founding member, JR (John Rivera) has frequently contributed
both artistic and technical support ever since the band was formed back
in 1978. He also conceived their recording label Monophonics Limited
Recordings which JEM later upgraded to Polyphonic Unlimited Recordings.
JEM is also a member of Holosphere and Fringe Element which have
recordings available from electro-music.com.
