hello,
I am just beginning to do patches of my own in the Nord Modular G2. I have run across a problem and hope you can help. I apologize if this is too obvious. I would appreciate your feedback.

I want to have a sequencer that is advanced one step every time I press a key. Eventually, I hope to play the G2 by pressing a MIDI pedal switch every time I want the note(s) to advance, while I'm playing a bass guitar. I also will be wanting polyphony, but haven't gotten that far yet. Right now I'm just trying to make it work from the keyboard w/o using MIDI.

The problem I have is that the sequencer doesn't advance until I press the key 16 times. I am using the Gate output of the Keyboard module and connecting it to the Clock input of the Note Sequencer module. (See attached patch.) I wondered if this has something to do with 1/16th notes vs. whole notes, but I'm not sure what adjustment I need. I'm hoping it's a simple problem with a simple solution. Smile

I would really appreciate any guidance you can give me. Thanks in advance!

- Dan (the keyboard player for Tasha Yar)

The voice count for the patch is set to 16. Every time you press a key a new voice is used and in that voice the sequencer progresses one step. After 16 keypresses a full circle is made and the 1st voice will step again. When you'd set the voice count to 1 it would work the way you expect.

Is there a specific reason you want the voice count to be set to 16 ?

Hello Jan -- thanks a lot!! I didn't notice the voice mode. I used the "Tiny Organ" patch as a starting point, and I didn't realize it used 16 voices. I've changed that and it works a lot better.

Good Very Happy

Saves me a walk to the synth to try and have the patch working for 16 voices - I'm sure it could be done though.
