eChucK lives! It suffered near death from it's own learning process and the priority of other projects, but eChucK is back now. To remind you, the goal of eChucK is to make small circuit boards that implement UGens in discrete circuit form, then connect them together into patches just like in software ChucK. The e stands for electronic, so we are creating electronic ChucK.

I'm particularly excited to announce that I have a partner in crime now, a young fellow with motivation and lots of creative energy who is willing to work with me in a mentor/student or more accurately engineer/technician style of working relationship. Cool, so now there are two part-timers on the project and the ball is rolling again, so what happens next? We build and offer kits!

The following eChucK modules are proposed to be developed first:
Power supply
VCO square, sine, triangle
Speaker driver
Boolean Sequencer
Karplus Strong
Gain/Attenuate
Half wave rectifier
Full wave rectifier
Baby 10 sequencer

Instead of having custom circuit boards made, as in the past, we will be developing prototypes and offering UGen kits based on today's inexpensive small circuit boards used for prototyping. In particular the 170 tie point protoboards and small proto pcbs for soldered versions.

So that's the idea, hope I'm being clear, and I'll close with a simple question: What UGens do you want first? That is, if you would like to either build yourself or see others build something with these UGens, what would be the most useful thing to build. To me, without a doubt, the power supply, VCOs, and speaker driver are the first three and we can start selling kits just as soon as those are ready. But what after that? What do you want first?

Oh, and any other comments, questions, or remarks are very welcome. Thanks,

Les Hall

It's good to hear you got your enthusiasm back Smile You got too many good ideas to just let sit.....

i'm already thinking of a million different applications....a patchable system in the palm of your hand.....shoot, the possibilities are endless.

Definitely gotta bring this project back from near death, Rock On!!
