So it doesn't seem like CLavia will add some sort of sampling abilities to the G2, so anyone work around this by coupling the G2 with a soft-synth? Any luck???

Personally, I need something in AudioUnit format, controls for Start, End, Length, Pitch, maybe some sort of Loop function, with Midi-Controllable parameters. A filter would be icing on the cake... Also, ideally, it would be pretty low on CPU.. I know thats a lot to ask, but anyone have anything on this???

Simpler inside Live4 won't work for you? i don't think you can control the end point, other than the loop, but it's got most of what you're looking for. it becomes *much* more powerful in Live6 using the racks. there's Sampler as well, which only works with Live6.

of course Kontakt is another option, and probably two dozen others along with it. i'm thinking of selling Reaktor, that might work for you as a VST inside of Live. how has your CPU usage been? there's all sorts of sample mangling ensembles that are light on CPU.

Yeah, Simpler is very cool, but I'm running like 8 Audio tracks in Live (G1 x4, G2 x4), as well as 4 sampler tracks and 4-5 busses.

Having soft-synths is VERY rough, even on my G4. My laptop is WAY slower, I haven't even tried using this setup on there...

In fact I may end up trying to load Mac OSX on the ol' laptop, just to see if I get better performance out of it... maybe just up the ram or something..

Anyways, thats kind of a pipe dream unless the Tech at work is kid enough to do me a little favor...
