Clavia News

Twice the polyphony in your G2 with the
G2 Voice Expansion board!

Clavia announces a Voice Expansion board for the Nord Modular G2. The G2 Voice Expansion board makes it possible to expand the polyphony in your G2 patches to twice the original. The G2 Voice Expansion board features four extra DSPs and RAM circuits and is very easy to install in the G2. The G2 Voice Expansion board will also be compatible with the rack mountable Nord Modular G2 Engine which will be released later this month.

The G2 Voice Expansion board is scheduled for release in April and the price will be approximately Euro 399.-

Editorial comment:

Selling the G2 without the expansion board is like selling a Porche with a lawn mower engine. Sure it'll run, but... sleeping

The secret to keeping the price of the G2 down is to sell it with 1/2 of the DSP and memory capacity. I'm not too bummed by this because I think an expanded G2 is still a great product at a good price. I understand the marketing games they have to play.

I just ordered my expansion board. There will probably be a prolonged wait, but what can one do? dunno

Do you think the future G2s will come with the expansion board already installed (w/ a pricetag reflecting that) so that one won't have to hassel with putting it oneself or finding someone who will do it.

I doubt if the expansion board will be included. That will put the G2 in a higher price class. Then never included it in the original NM.
