I have some gear that I will eventually be selling, once I get around to taking some pictures and writing descriptions. Meanwhile, I will list it here, just in case someone sees something they are interested in.

Red Sound DarkStar synthesizer
MAM MAP1 arpeggiator
Sycologic 16x16 midi patch bay
Oberheim Drummer
Sequential Circuits model 800 analog sequencer
Roland SBX-800 midi/smpte sync box
tenor banjo

The dark star is not bad for the price ($200).
It has all the basic synth functions, with 2 midi-synced LFOs, and a cool joystick. Knobs for everything, but each knob has 2 functions, so you have to get used to switching modes before tweaking. Calling up programs is a pain - you actually have to use 2 hands to do it on some of the banks.
There are some reviews on my site:

It's not quite unique enough to earn a spot in my rig. Instead I'm using a DX200, which for the same price is also tweakable, but has effects and a nifty little sequencer. The DX200 has some limitations too, though. I plan to replace it with an XL-7.

Aha.. the Darkstar is an analog modeling thingie. the XP2 with a joystick for 299 UK Pounds is looking good. The double function buttons makes this one not that well suited for performance? The Sound On Sound review is quite positive. Did the different software packs ever show up? Like the vocoder etc?

The DX200 is one of Yamaha's smaller groove boxes.
It uses FM synthesis, in fact it's really a DX7 in a box, with added effects, an analog style filter, and a sequencer. Plenty of knobs, sounds very good, the sequencer is somewhat limited but easy to use. $200.

The XL7 is one of Emu's command stations, which combine a very nice real-time oriented / pattern sequencer with a powerful synth / sound module. The sound module is basically a proteus 2000 type. $500.

There is a vocoder module for the Darkstar. Not sure if it works in the XP2.
But you have to replace the synth chip in it to use it that way. So it's like an alternative, not an upgrade.

Aha... command stations, groove boxes.. all greek to me.. but as far as I can see from the websites they look very impressive.

The Darkstar is a bit tempting, but I guess I rather should sit on the money and decide for gear which can match a certain concert concept - when I eventually come up with one.. someday.
