Greenwich House Arts Presents Mezzo Soprano Marcellina van der Grinten
and Pianist Jorg Ritter in Second Concert of Womens Work 2007 Series -
March 21 at Greenwich House Music School
Greenwich House Arts will present the second concert of their Women's
Work 2007 series on Wednesday, March 21- 8 PM in the Renee Weiler
Concert Hall at Greenwich House Music School, 46 Barrow Street, New York
City (between Seventh Avenue South and Bedford St.). This concert will
be hosted by Beth Anderson and presented by Greenwich House Arts.
This concert, entitled Past/Present vs. Europe/America, will feature
mezzo soprano Marcellina van der Grinten and pianist Jörg Ritter
performing poetically-influenced music by historical women composers &
contemporary songs by women from Germany, Serbia, and the USA. Composers
to be performed include Beth Anderson, Nancy Bloomer Deussen, Barbara
Heller, Stefania de Kenessey, Lori Laitman, Ljubica Maric, Ruth Schontal
and Clara Schumann. More about the Women's Work series, including

The 2007 series, with works chosen by the presenting ensembles and
performers, will explore recent chamber instrumental and vocal music by
prominent contemporary women composers from Asia, the U.S. and Europe,
and how their work has been influenced by folk music, poetry and even
new technology. The final series concert date is March 28, 2007.
Admission to this concert is $15 general, $10 for students and seniors,
with admissions available at the door starting at 7:30 PM on the evening

Since its creation, Greenwich House Music School, a division of
Greenwich House Arts, has provided affordable music lessons and musical
events for students and audiences of all ages. A distinguished faculty
teaches beginners as well as those who are returning to musical study
either as an avocation or with professional aspirations. Today, they
continue the tradition of providing a performance series for the
community. In the Renee Weiler Concert Hall, audiences can hear
classical music and opera as well as ethnic, jazz, contemporary and folk
