According to MI2G, a UK based IT security firm, Mac OS X and other BSD based Operating Systems are the most secure, out of the box, and the least attacked.

Well... add some salt... but they might be right too. What they don´t mention is that the Apple GUI allows absolutely everyone to turn on whatever of silly services etc etc.. and then the mac will be "open"..
but OSX has at least all the obvious insecure services shut down by default.
OSX right now is probably slightly less secure than the plain BSD because Apple has added the Applescript scripting language.. and Apple has established a convention when it comes to how installers work and users will kinda do whatever the installer tells them to do when they thinkl they are installing an application. This does in fact increase the risk of putting trojans ( not THOSE trojans ) on your disk.

On the other hand.. I have never been hacked..
Hmm.. well.. I have had some guys repeatedly attacking one of my PHPnuke sites.. but in that case it was phpnuke having open holes .. and not OS X.
