Is it possible to route/rewire the output of ChucK into another programme such a Max or SC3 on windows?

Thanks

Rhys

(Apologies if this has been asked before, but I couldn't find it in the search)

Rewire is proprietary, I don't think it can be licensed for a free&open software like ChucK.

There was talk about Jack for Windows, that'd be perfect;

I have a soundcard that does this for me so I haven't looked into more general solutions myself.

That's correct - this was under consideration for SuperCollider at some point but the licensing was impossible to deal with. Apparently the prop-heads only license it to corporations.

May they get what they deserve Twisted Evil

I don't think the master-slave type connection Rewire uses is suitable for SC or CK, conceptually anyway. There have been rumours about VST capabilities for ChucK and I'm slightly divided on that already....Something like that would harm cross-platform compatibility which in turn would harm code-exchange (and thus community) and I'm generally sceptical about corporate formats.

I'd much prefer Jack usage expanding on OSX and XP.

Still, as options I agree they would come in handy at times.
