Sorry I ain't been about guys to help out with the ChucK problems on OSX n that.

Truth is, I've been trying to claw back any data and piece together anything I could after my harddrive suffered complete mechanical failure and I lost a lot of worked that wasn't backed up.

This included my ChucK Breakbeat Cutter which I'm currently in the process of recalling from memory and recreating. The project has to be handed in within 3 weeks so as you can image it is quite a hectic process.

Anyway, once I have handed in the completed version then I will upload it to this board for all you guys to play around with. In the meantime I've gotta get back on top of it.

Thanks,

Rhys

What!? Using a larger perspective and a plan to make more efficient code?

REACTIONARY! Non-ChucKian! Of with your head!

;¬)

Dr, I'm working on a breakbeat cutter as well. Ok, all I have right now is a way of analysing a break, detecting slices and randomly re-arranging them but it works. I like it better then quantising to a grid. Do you want it as a way to get started with a fresh perspective? I have to warn it's working but slightly messy and some issues with array types caused ChucK to seg-fault (Ge is on the case). It has workarounds though.

Don't feel bad Doc, my whole career suffered a hardware malfunction and I'm still recovering from that. We all have these moments.

I'm looking forward to seeing your work and Kassen's work. For my part I'm adding FFT / IFFT capability to Synth Lab, what fun!

Oh, and welcome back... I just backed up my ChucK directory.

Cheers for the words of encouragement guys.

That's the one major thing I don't have BUT it does come equipped with a GUI that can change all the settings on the fly amongst other things!

I hope that us lot can combine thoughts n ideas once I can release this code and then we can improve upon it.

Personally I'd like to collaborate on this just so we can produce something that can give SC3's BBCut a run for its money and make awesome ChucK music Very Happy

Hand in date is in 3 weeks and I'll ask when I can unleash it after that.

Rhys

We can link your tools in with the electro-music.com ChucKian collective using Frostburn's Communication.ck file. Then we can make audio and control links between all the tools.

Building a ChucK Borg? "Resistance is Futile."

My communication.ck is in my opinion the worst way of connecting anything.
Because of my mac disability I haven't looked in to how you use it in your 'Labs but I don't use/like the kind of connections that communication.ck makes.

It's much better to use public classes that have members
Code:
Gain in;
Gain out;
or even
Code:
Pan2 out;
That way instances of the sound producing class can be chucked to each other in the main shred.

Code:
MyTinyOscillator mto;
MyLittleFilter mcf;
mto.out => mlf.in; //magic happens inside MyLittleFilter
mlf.out => dac; //sound

Why soitanly, as Curly would say! I believe I can put a class wrapper around each of the Labs and then instantiate them in a master script, "Borg.ck".
