After adding the [url] [/url] tags, I clicked submit.
In the view that was displayed to me, the tags were not rendered, but were still visible- ant the URL was not highlighted as a clickable link.

Obviously- vunv did something but isn't saying....

You tell me. I only do what you allow me to do.

I've posted many urls in the past and didn't have this problem.
I suppose I accidentally clicked on something i shouldn't have- but I dont know what that is.

Listen... I edited the first post and then got on the phone and then fetched some pizza and then hovered a bit with my little heli in the living room and then fetched more beer and a single malt .. and basically forgot I had one unposted message here telling what I did..

The url looked like this [url]http://www.engadget.com/2008/04/28/microsoft-says-xp-is-defintely-dead-in-june-dll-says-itll-kee
[/url] - there is a line shift character here... at the end .. before the last section of the url argument. I removed it.

How do you define a "line shift" character?
Is that an '_'?

It isn´t visible in the phpBB post editor window. It is simply an invisible return.. and you gotta sense that the dirty little flamboyant bastard is in there.

My goodness. When Apple drops support for an older OS version, it sparks a seven-page thread... but when M$ does the same thing, we talk about... pizza.

Double-standard, anyone?

Twisted Evil

I mean, think about it... OSX 10.5 vs. Vista... hello? Which OS is in worse shape? Which one was in development and delayed longer?

I think it's just that PC users don't get so emotionally involved in an OS. They just care about whether it works or not, or if it will someday, or whether a service pack will be released, or maybe they don't need to get the new OS anyway. Nothing to get hysterical about. Rolling Eyes Laughing

That's because M$ customers are accustomed to being treated this way. The evil overlord has decided to force his will upon the people yet again, and M$ customers are so bullied into submission that they hardly even notice. It's nothing compared to "the network is down" and "the blue screen of death" from M$'s history. Folks are just glad the dang thing works at all, that is if you buy 4 Gigs of RAM and fine tune the OS first it will work.
