I just bought a 2MB SRAM card from Timatech formerly Timasci. I am having trouble getting it to work and I have read the manual on it a hundred times. A6 keeps telling me it needs to be initialized by storing patches into it. The only problem is I don't know how to access the card to store stuff on it! Whenever I press "store" then press "card" it keeps telling me to initialize it first. This seems like an oxymoron to me. Is the A6 not able to handle 2 MB cards?
I am not sure if it is a flash card, but it does say SRAM on it. I had bought a previous card from the Midi Store which was not flash and it definitely did not work. I bought the exact card down to the serial number that is recommended in Mike Peakes FAQ.
Please help guys, I really don't know who else to ask but this very knowledgeable community.

Sounds like the right card (2MB SRAM)...

From the FAQ:

"Oct 2002
From: "Karl West" <karl>
Fire up the A6 put the card in and the A6 should detect the card. Then
press store, followed by card (soft button 6).Turn soft knob 1 all the
way round until "hit store to initiate card" shows. Press store to
initiate and you will be given options to how you want the card
structured. For saving just program banks on the card press soft button1, for just mix banks
soft button 2 and for mixes and programs soft button 3. I used soft button 3 so I can have 6
program banks and 3 mix banks. Then downloaded the five program banks (by Rob Papen,
Klaus Peter etc) from alesis's site"

How do I send the Rob Papen programs to my A6?

I may not have the "technology" to do such a thing.

I have no way of connecting my computer to my A6.

What do I need to do?

Do I need to buy something?
I have a laptop only.

thanks

you will need a USB midi interface, two midi cables and some SysEx transfer software like my program Andromeda Banker or MidiOx.
