Hi everyone,

I have really enjoyed reading this forum for a few days, and appreciate the friendly expertise shared here. I found the forum while looking for some guidance with my current hobby music setup, and think it is a good place to stick around.

I have always been passionate about music, and was fortunate enough to receive some classical training in high school. I have a brother who brought home some you-beaut all analogue synths, which really opened my mind. Later, one friend bought some synths, and asked me to teach him some music so he could get started producing tech/trance/ambient etc.

My main influences are the following old record lables: Rising High, EyeQ, Harthouse, Superstition, Platypus, R&S (or Ferari), XVX and others. I have been disapointed with a lot of electronic music over the last 8 years or so, but am really enjoying some recent releases. It's a boring thing to say, but too much electronica has just sounded the same; I really enjoy progression, and new ideas in music.

I took an extended break from music to finish my engineering degree, and got married, and finally I have a little time and money to continue my much loved hobby.

My musical skills are somewhat limited, though I think I have a reasonable ear, and some good ideas. My ability to execute my ideas is often a frustration to me, but I do enjoy learning.

Well pretty long post, but that pretty much wraps me up.

Looking forward to a rewarding membership here,

Oli
