I'm learning how to play my new guitar and it's going fairly well, thanks to the Sweat Blessing.

You see, when I was in high school I went to an AC/DC concert. I was sitting in the aisle seat when half way through the show, Angus Young came down the steps right next to me, riding on a roadie's back and playing guitar like a wild man! For some unknown reason I reached up and patted him on the back with my left hand. This got some of Angus Young's sweat on my fingers, and that's how I received the Sweat Blessing!

Now I'm having fun learning the chords, and I even had one moment last night where the strings just seemed to fall into place so to speak. I know it's because I received the Sweat Blessing over 20 years ago, and the power to Rock has been latent within me all this time.

So hopefully soon I'll be jamming all night on this beautiful guitar. For those about to rock, we salute you! Do you have any similar stories? Fess up and share!

OH YEAH!

First off... October 1972, Columbia, SC. I was 15 and went to an Alice Cooper concert. I was walking around the place he was playing (Carolina Coliseum) and there was this guy walking around outside with a boa constrictor around his neck. I thought, I should go meet this guy. So, I walked up to him and talked to him a bit. I asked him if it was Alice's snake and he snickered a little and said "Yeah". At that moment I looked at him and said, "You're...?" He smiled bigger and said "Yeah." I was stunned, but stayed cool. We walked into the coliesum together. He sid gotta go, I said later. Since that moment, I wanted to be a musician.

Another very cool conection with a great musician was at an Ian Hunter/Mick Ronson show. There was hardly anyone there, and I was right up front. Standing in front of Ian Hunter, and had my drink on the stage. I went with a fellow Gothic Playground band member, who had never heard of Ian Hunter before that night. The small few of us in the crowd were calling up song requests. I called for "Death May Be Your Santa Claus", "Lounge Lizard", ect. But at one point I said "Slaughter on Tenth Avenue" which was the first solo album by Mick Ronson. The band finished the show, did an encore. And while the rest of the band was walking off the stage, Mick Ronson walked up to me, bent down slightly and played "Slaughter on Tenth Avenue". I thanked him, he thanked me and walked off the stage. That was the coolest thing that has ever happened to me.

AND THEN....

A few years ago, I saw Mountain in a small club in Tallahassee. During the first song, Leslie West handed me his guitar pick, held down his guitar and said (in a very loud Leslie West sort of way) "PLAY!". So I nervously stroked the strings and then he pulled back and continued playing. I still have that pick, all of my picks are now that width and I started using lighter guage strings AND shortly after this, the whole Oenyaw thing started. I mean, if Leslie West tells you to play, you should get off your ass and start playing.

I fucking love music!

Great stories, I was hoping for a few like that! We need more stories to entertain us! If you have one, don't be shy, tell us your music hero stories!
