Ross (iPassenger),
congrats!!!
Now you can put 100% in your voice area, and 100% in your fx area, and multiply it all by 4 slots (assuming all patches are monophonic) ... grrrrrriiiiiiinnnnnn ...
re blofeld, well, I'm more than happy with my waldorf Xt which features an analog in vs a blofeld that doesn't (nor is it avail in canada, still, sigh), and in conjunction with a x0xb0x (which is on its way) means more filtering than grandma would approve ....
/Dasz
ps.: the only thing you could do next is get another expanded G2 ... having 2 G2's expanded opens all sorts of doors _________________ http://www.clavia.se/misc/users/daszgarncarz.htm

I know, but that's a lot of $$
I wish you could place the expansion cards on top of eachother, 4, 8, 12, 16.. DSP's (kind of like the Kyma.)

Thanks fellas. Hopefully get it next week sometime.
hehe @ misty! How many do you need?
The reason i changed my mind about it (vs the Blofeld) was it occured to me that I often use 1 or 2 sounds from Nord, the rest of the spectrum covered by my other machines.. and that i try to keep my polyphony reasonably high (min 7 notes for one sound and maybe a mono second instrument) this often means that my design decisions come down to cpu power rather than sound. Now that wont need to be half as much of a concern (well actually it will be exactly half). _________________ iP (Ross)

The XT has to be much more usable with all of those knobs, than the Blofeld's prohibitive interface, ehh? _________________ Free Tibet. Release the Panchen Lama from prison. Let the Dalai Lama return to his home. |

I'm using the G2 a lot lately in my productions, once you start with crossover filters and full stereo-paths you'll want more!

Well my board has arrived.. unfortunately I am not going to get chance to play with it till tomorrow night. Also got some new headphones, AKG K141 Mk2s... so I will be able to tell just how bad some of my patches really are. _________________ iP (Ross)

Hehe.. I know.
Installed it last night, scary as I didn't want to brake anything but it was dead easy. Guide seemed to have the number of screws down wrong and there weren't any bloody washers it mentioned but still all in all a very easy upgrade. That extra power is gonna take some getting used to. _________________ iP (Ross)

Indeed.
It is really nice knowing that worse case scenario on one synth I still have 7 voices, which is comfortable amount of poly in most cases. (More than a Juno or a Prophet) etc. _________________ iP (Ross)
