Would you like to be able to make a patch send variation copy commands?
But of course I would!

As a user of the G2 Engine, I often miss the ability to copy variations without having to use the editor. This feature would be invaluable in live play situations.

One possible way of implementing the feature would be to introduce a variation copy module with just one logic input: a high signal at this input plus a variation change would copy the variation parameters to the new variation.

How about all you Behringer BCR2000 (etc) midi controller users: haven´t you ever thought how nice it would be to save snapshots of the parameter space into variation banks and then jump back and forth between them and do it all LIVE and WITHOUT the editor?

BCR2000 could perhaps (I´ve never tried one, though) become an adequate substitute for the UI on G2 keyboard models if only this variation copying thing via midi was supported. (Or maybe there are other things lacking as well?)

The copy feature could be implemented for example so that CC#70 value 127 would switch on copy mode and a subsequent <127 CC#70 message would then copy the current variation (& jump?) into the destination.
