How do I program the buttons to send midi messages? Subject description: Sorry for the noob question... |
 |
|
I am making a patch for my G2 to be used as a controller for another synth. I am using "MIDI Control Send" modules and they are working great...
However, I would like to program the buttons below the knobs, on the G2, to do things like on/off functions. For example, to turn an effect on or off on my other synth. I do not like using a knob as an on/off button. Is this possible? How is it done?
Thanks a lot in advance! _________________ paul |

no problem. hey, what kinds of interfaces are you assigning this way (how big are those UI's)? just curious ...
i'm currently using a G2 knob to select the next phrase/variation, and the button engages that new selection on the next downbeat ... times x 8

UI = user interface, how big = how many knobs/buttons etc. .. or parameters. _________________ Jan |

so far 8.5 cycles, 15.6% memory and 69 modules. i guess i could post my patch when it is complete. it could be considered kind of useless since the wave has all of its knobs and buttons right on the front. this was just for fun, to get to know my gear better
thanks again, you guys are always real helpful. _________________ paul |

Today I rearranged some gear ... hadn't used a mixer for years .. it was totally new again again
Anyway, please post your patch, it'll always be useful for someone to learn. _________________ Jan |

(who wonders if the is really needed here, but you never know...) |

Had a nice chuckle with this one.
I will look at your Wave controller patch. Controller paches are on my to do list. I want to do controller patches for my main soft synths, a Kawai K5000R, and my Studio QuadV2 effects processor.
I have had a look at some patches in the archive already.

Doing controller patch is a hot for me too
Just trying to patch controller with some modifiers for some of then to control my RS7000 ('ll share it complited)
It recieves 23-or-so controllers/per midichannel X 16. I've out of CC-send modules quickly. I'm minding now what combine with what in one path & what - in another. It looks like have to have (vol/pan/fx sends x3/expression)x16 in one patch, while cutoffs/res/dist/portamento -in another. Not good, that then I have to make new controller patch for evry song or part of song depend on what I need to control in what situatio at once. Have anybody here G2 MIDI/XG controller patch experience already? Some tips on subject are welcome! |
