BIO: Sam Seed The Shaggy Dog, originally born in Houston, Texas, is a self-taught musician, working out of his home studio. Born Corey Miles Feinberg, May 23, 1980, Corey first got interested in music in 1994 when he started playing guitar. He has many influences in different genres of music including Blues, Jazz, Hip Hop, Funk, R & B, and Reggae. Some of his influences include musicians such as B.B. King, Wes Montgomery, MF Doom, and Telefon Tel Aviv. Corey’s production handle is Sam Seed. Sam blends live tracks with sequenced music on his computer and creates samples on his MPC 2000. He has been making music of one kind or another for about 15 years and is now working on production as well as performance. Incorporating old world music with contemporary sounds, Sam Seed likes to blend many different sounds into one collective, eclectic piece of work. Corey Miles has been performing live, mostly in the blues genre, for the past 5 years, playing lead electric guitar. Corey spent several years in Austin and Houston playing at jam nights in various clubs, including The Continental Club in Houston and Friends in Austin. Since 2006 he has played in popular clubs (The Hop Shop in Harlingen and Johnny’s BBQ Pit in Pharr) throughout the Rio Grande Valley, Texas with The Leigh Holles Band. The band has participated in the last two annual “Blues on the Hill” festivals, having the opportunity to create an even larger following in the area. Corey has always had a deep love for music. He says that he has always had “all kinds of songs running around in [his] head, even entire orchestrations for large pieces.” He is working on a degree in music and would eventually like to teach music unless his production and performance work leads to other horizons. |
