Paul Rubenstein is a very creative and accomplished musician I've admired for a while. I just learned that he now sells hex pickups:

Unlike the Roland GK series, RMC, and Graphtech Hexpander, Rubenstein's pickups look like regular pickups and are installed in regular pickup cavities. I might actually send my Strat-style Parker Nitefly to him to install a Type 1 into the middle position, as well as replace the bridge and neck pickups with Dimarzio Virtual Vintage 54s. I'll find a way to repurpose the GK3 currently on the Nitefly.

Rubenstein also sells breakout boxes for low prices (compared to RMC's Fanout Box):
