Well I think I really messed up my friend's Alpha Juno 1...

I installed a new battery and cleaned the key contacts. After reassembling I then did the Factory RAM reboot (holding Portmento and Data while powering up) and it said "Intializ RAM" and all the patches are there... but when I play it each note/key sounds like it has a different patch on it. Some of the notes sound dead but if you hold them they fade in (long attack) then as you hit them the attack time decreases until they are normal again. After the unit is on for a while the output get lower and lower.

Experience this before?

Well... I got the factory patch file from Roland and used Logic to run the MIDI out of my Motu 828 and did a Midi Bulk Dump... and nada.

The Juno seemed to register that I did it... but after the screen read Bulk End... It didn't do anything else and the shit still sounds the same.

Any ides?

Cheers,
David

Thanks for the plethora of responses Razz

It turned out it was a glob of solder on two pins of a chip near the memory section.

All fixed.

PS.: Thanks to Bob Weigel for the help.
