Subject description: Hot to obtain a clock from an external sound source

Hi all..

I just done a patch where using an evelope follower I can
trigger my oscillators, other env and so on...
But I'd like to obtain something that could follow the external sound more accurately. In a dj mixer I have a bpm counter that sync all the
mixer fx. I want to obtain a patch that, given a sound source, extracts the "correct" bpm in order to use it to in place of the Clock module (that you can find under the LFO section).
I tried to program something, but I can't obtain something accurate like
my dj mixer.

Any idea? Any patch....?

Happy New Year....

All the best.

Gius.

Your DJ mixer probably uses a lot more complicated/intelligent programing to derive that BPM.

With the exception of the logic modules, the NM pretty much only behaves like analog devices, which are pretty "dumb." You can assemble some interesting things with the logic modules, but you have to wrap your head around the binary on/off stuff that is going on and patches get complicated pretty quickly.

You could try rigging up envelope followers driving pulse generators (to cut out things other than the main pulses of the bass drum). Still not sure that would work that well though.
