So it all began a few weeks ago...

with this ballsy idea of mine of putting together all my cut, lost, and abandoned tracks since 2006 that are sitting on my pore, old, decrepit computer. I figured that I could put 'em up for the EM folk. When I was done converting them to mp3s, I was left with a folder of over 60 tracks.
Shocked

That's when I sat back and said to myself, "Ok, that's a bit drastic. And a bit too much to unload on you guys."

So I decided to scale it back a bit. Focus my attentions.
That's when I remembered...

Flip to 2008...
and another one of my ballsy ideas of "Hey, let me work on two separate albums at once... and take 'em in two different directions."
Confused

While working on Lines And Shapes, an album I'm sure you guys here are familiar with, I was also experimenting with another album that was to be titled This World Without You. The production was a much more raw and darker approach while mixing elements of rock. Lines And Shapes kinda took over my attention span since I felt it would be more accessible on the dance floor and a bit on the funner side. So This World Without You sat on the back burner. Finally, after all this time, I put together tracks during that session into a single download.

20 tracks later (there's still a few more leftover)...
Very Happy

For me, this was a time of messing with sounds and pushing myself into working with different styles to varying degrees of success. At moments it's noisy, raw, in your face and at other moments you just wanna lie down and let it carry you away. I never went back and did final mixes cuz I just lost the vibe. I couldn't get back into that headspace. In the end, I didn't want to backtrack, I wanted to move on to something new. What's important is that I'm proud and it was a learning experience that helped me progress to the next stage. And there a few tracks from this batch that still hold a place in my heart with me. I think with my new album, you will definitely hear the darker, more aggressive vibe seeping in.

So instead of wasting away on a computer, with no one but myself to listen, why not fucking let you lot get a chance to hear 'em!
Wink

and without further interruption...

i've been talking to a guitarist and a percussionist about recreating some of these tracks live. it would be fun to do something a little different than my usual stuff.
