hi Guys,
So I'm finally going to build the minisynth and ordered the"kit" of parts from THE Bridechamber.Well along with not sending all the parts the ICs were packed in a plastic sleeve and NOT in any conducting foam. Knowing how sensitive ICs can be to static charges should I just assume that the ICs may be pooched and get better packeged new ones and s ave some troubleshooting headaches?Thanksalot for any advice to a supreme newby.

Most of the time IC's are transported in the sleeves and not on conductive foam. What is perceived as "plastic" is most likley not just plain plastic but more likely a static dissapative material. Your probably good to go and no IC pooching has taken place Wink . To be sure, if you want, post a picture of the packaging material to rid yourself of any doubt and avoid any assumptions.

All of my ICs from Rapid come in u shaped plastic tubing without any problem.
I bought a wogglebug kit of parts from Bridechamber recently. It had a couple of bits missing too but Scott was very helpful and friendly & sorted it without any problems. Tell 'em what you're short of & I think you'll find they get you sorted.
Good luck with your build
Cheers
Ian
