Er... what do you intend to use the remaining red synth for? _________________ robsol

Well, originally I had them for fun and learning. Their main use was for sound design. I received a bachelor of arts in audio production and sound design two years ago, and I have not been able to find a job. Freelance is not paying the bills; I am going back to school for mechanical engineering... I need money to move out of the parents house, but I still want something to play with. I am going to be selling some gear that I do not have time for _________________ paul |

You can probably get a lot of money for the G2X, but you might regret selling it. Maybe Wout or Jan will argue with this (I don't think so though) but the G2X is a much more flexible synthesizer than the Wave. _________________ Garret: It's so retro.

I was out of work for six months this year, and sold a Yamaha S90 and a Nord G2X. I don't miss the S90 but the G2X is something I definately miss. I ended up getting a Kurzweil K2600XS, which is also quite powerful in a very different way than the G2X, but wow it's heavy.

Sell the Wave. Though it looks and sounds like it's a fabulous synth and like the G2X may be hard to get some day but being sample driven machine you can probably find something similar if not better than it when you are in whatever your mechanical engineering degree might take you and "back" into music. The G2X on the other hand to echo others is irreplaceable itself. I would add that if greatly missed there would also most likely be something available (if you could afford it) that would not necessarily replace it but equally valid that you'd be in heaven creating with. Given the choice here though between the two, the G2X takes precedent.

I agree - keep the G2X.
Or sell both and get a G2 engine. _________________ robsol

Without any doubt... keep the G2X...
I have 4 Clavia synths and they are all Modulars...
Wouldn't mind a Wave, but not too sure it's worth getting, especially when the Blofeld is supposed to do the same and is way cheaper...
Having said that, the G2X is a really unique synth, capable of sequencing, processing and has an almost infinite range of possible sounds and certainly only loses to the Wave in lacking sample playback...
I really think it's a no brainer... _________________ Akai EWI3020/3030m / Alesis Fusion / Cheetah MS6 / Clavia Nord Modular G1/G2X / Creamware Noah, Scope / EMU E6400U, P2000, XL7 / Ensoniq Fizmo / Hartmann Neuron / Ibanez AD202, DM2000 / Kawai SX-240 / Korg 05R/W, A1, DSS1, EMX1, Legacy Collection, Oasys PCI, P6, P800II, SDD3000, Trident, Triton Pro, Zero 8 / Novation SBS, AS / Pearl DRUM-X / Roland D550, MKS80, R880, SRE555, VariOS, V-Synth / Soundart Chameleon / Symetrix 606 / Teisco S110F / Waldorf Blofeld kbd, mQ / Yamaha A5000, AN1x, CS5/15, FS1r |
