Ephemeral Mists is dark, glistening and beautiful ethno ambient sounds unlike anything in the psychedelic chill scene right now. Mesmerizing synthesizer ripples and haunting melody lines move and morph like oil in a lava lamp, defying gravity as they glide through shadowy passages and circle under shifting skies. The mood is positively sublime at times ala early Delerium. The beats are an even paced and soothing concoction of slow to mid-tempos influenced by trance and tribal music.

The music casts long shadows - Ephemeral Mists is rather fond of minor keys - yet it falls well short of the industrial and gothic indulgences of the composers other two projects (The synthetic dream foundation & Abandoned Toys). Excellent melodic writing is what gives these twilight atmospheres and meticulous sound design the necessary colour and emotion. Melancholy is a good thing when handled by a master. One of the most original and compelling psy-ambient releases I've heard in a long time. Rating: 10/10.
