Anyone know any places online to buy books at discounted rates? Used books are OK. I'm thinking of updating some of my academic/technical books and want to keep spending to a minimum. As long as the book is in reasonable shape and the seller is honest and reliable, I'm happy.

You could try Half.com. My wife sells used books there. Occasionally she gets used college text books but they sell rather quickly. She sells there under the name Tome-readers.

Other places are: Abebooks.com or Alibris.com

I always buy used books through Amazon. You can get the Amazon warranty on most of them as well...so you're always on the save side.

Not used books, but I really like The Book Depository, they have almost everything, and ship worldwide for free. Can pay with paypal and ship very fast! Oh, and its cheaper then buying in NL.

Hm, not the cheapest, but I guess they make up for that with free shipping.
