Texas Instruments has a cool booster pack for the MSP430 Launchpad with a low power requirement DSP chip on it. Looks like it's $30 (U.S.) for another couple days, then it goes up to $35. They're on backorder, but I just signed up for one anyway. You'll need the MSP430 booster pack as well, but they're only $4.30...

Thanks for bringing this to my attention, Doug. I ordered one. Couldn't resist it.

This thing arrived last week. (I was on yet another business trip so I didn't get it until today.) Nice little tiny thing, can't wait to fire it up!

Of course, my biggest complaint is that it's in a BGA package. That's not super friendly to us DIY guys. I do happen to know a guy who has a pick and place machine and an oven, so I might work something out with him, but I see that TI makes this particular chip series in an LQFP too. I *love* LQFP! If this booster pack shows promise, I'll see if I can design a board for the LQFP version...

Regards,
Doug
