Subject description: I need ideas + suggestions

I am a programmer, and I keep imaging how helpful an Andromeda VST would be....soo...I need some ideas!

Everything works via SYSEX, so virtually anything can be controlled or edited, etc. So far -- I've got my program to turn features on and off, and successfully edit slider & knob positions / values.

The idea is to have an on-screen GUI VST, with all the knobs, and sliders, that aren't on the front panel of the Andromeda! This would allow for easy editing of the OSC FM, FX Levels, and Etc.

What I'd like from you guys --- is some suggestions on what features and knobs to add to my VST GUI (I've only had my Andy for a Month, so I'm still an Andy Newbie, so I need some input)

- What parameters don't you like Menu-Diving For?
- What parameters have you noticed that can't be controlled via Midi CC, and thus, can't be automated with your DAW?
- Any other feature ideas & suggestions?

(P.S. Someone else on these forums is developing something similar for for the MacOS/iPad, check it out Here http://electro-music.com/forum/topic-57217.html)

Suggestion: Have you looked at this free project here?

http://ctrlr.org/

If you are going to make a GUI, this project may alleviate lots of groundwork for you. All the MIDI communication routines and graphical stuff should already be in it.

And as an added bonus, the resulting GUI will be multi-platform (Win, Mac, VST, AU)

Cheers,
Helge

I was gonna code the GUI from scratch by myself, but this looks way cleaner and fully developed already, I'll have to read the licensing agreements, and test it out, making sure It complies with everything I need it too,

Thanks for the resource! Very Happy

It looks like it's for C++, and I'm coding my current Andy VST in Java....so I might have to switch languages... which is no biggie because I know them all Twisted Evil
