What I'm trying to accomplish here is to send out a set of random MIDI CC values on a single button press.

It's easy enough to do this with a RndPattern and a single send, or a random LFO, etc. However, I'd like to be able to send different random numbers to multiple CCs in an efficient way, hopefully using only one generator.

I've tried using a Mux1-8 with an envelope attached to Ctrl and my generator into the input but each of the Mux's outputs returns the value to 0 when it's not selected. This has the effect of sending out 0 values to the MIDI CCs.

Any ideas on how to solve this little problem?

If you don't want to resort to more expensive solutions requiring S/H modules, this is the only way I can think of doing it.

Basically I clock a shift register module for 1 millisecond, which fills the registers with 8 new random values coming from a noise source. (1000ms/12000*8=0.66ms)

It has one drawback though, in that a minute amount of spurious random CC messages is sent at first before things settle in.

I patched it "dry" in the editor without the hardware connected. See if it works.

EDIT: Technique in next post is probably superior.

Another technique is to scramble one random value with cascaded wave-wrapper modules.

The benefit of this technique is that you can add/remove as many random CC generators as you see fit.

Randomization patched and tested in the demo, MIDI CC modules added "dry" in normal editor.

Thank you, Tim, that's great. I wouldn't have thought of that at all.
