Hello,

I'm new here so let me introduce myself.
I'm software engineer and produce electronic music as a hobby.
I live in Belgium.
I've discover this forum link by the Clavia mailling list and a Steinway Grand pictures Smile.
I've got 2 Micro Modular for those who ask themself why i'm interrested in Clavia. I'm in plan to buy a G2...

My first subject will be the Doepfer Regelwerk midi controller/ Midi/CV sequencer.

Does anybody try this doepfer stuff ?

Pierre.

Hi Pierre
it seems you have come to the right place: it's full of Clavia maniacs around here as you probably have already discovered by yourself.
Welcome welcome

Hi, Pierre. Welcome. We talk about G2s more than Steinways here. Very Happy

I don't have any experience with the Doepfer Regelwerk midi controller/ Midi/CV sequencer. Maybe someone will see this that does. You are welcome to post music on the online music forum. You can even upload mp3s as attachments to posts.

pmestrez,

Hi there. I confess to own some Doepfer stuff (quite a lot actually) including a Regelwerk.

I'll try and answer your query.

Hello David aka a100user Smile

I would like to know if the regelwerk allows to change pattern sync to the clock. So, does it wait for the current pattern reach its end to switch to the new selected one ?

Thanks all for welcome messages.

Pierre.

Pierre,

I confess I've not tried this. The manual states:

Further sync parameters can be altered when using MIDI clock sync, to change the response of the REGELWERK to Continue commands.

Setting the mode to the following:-
Mode: Start; Cont

makes REGELWERK tracks reset to the first step after a Start message (or in normal cycling mode)
A Continue message starts the sequence from the last step reached.

Setting the mode to the following:-
Mode: Start = Cont

means that all tracks will start afresh from step one, whether a Start or a Continue message is received.

As standard, MIDI Realtime messages are transmitted from both MIDI Out 1 and MIDI Out 2. There may be some MIDI configurations, though, where this could be undesirable, or cause problems.

Not sure if it will work though because I know that some parameters on my regelwerk cause a lock up if they are changed on the fly. Normally I stop what it's doing, change the parameter and re start.

It's a shame that the firmware was never developed because it principle it's a great box.

Rgds

David

It looks to me like you want to know whether when changing pattern whilst playing, the Regelwerk changes pattern at the end of the current pattern or not. It doesn't. When you select a new pattern you hit OK and the pattern changes, instantly. This isn't too bad as everything still stays in time. If you want stuff to change at the end you just have to hit OK on the right beat.
