Hello! I'm personally inviting you to attend a progressive workshop at
The Muse Cafe for next friday nite as well as a strew of other events
happening at my biz. This event is now happening monthly after a VERY successful 1st launch in December. We had a tremendous crowd, hungry for music, and not enough musicians. I do thank Jon Markese, Spacehorn7000, john bescup, oscar, barry barnhardt, joe grez for sitting in on bass, mc philasoph, and Jbeatz amongst others for coming thru and helping make this event great! let's do it again, and better. by the way, I have the recordings from that nite in possession. Seeking a person to help take the pro tools files and mini-mix them. I do not have this technology available in my ready. There was video from that nite
too which I am currently seeking to get from my friend who shot the nite. Props mitch!

Friday, Jan 26th--- The Chicago Junglebop Syndicate
presents a Live Jungle/Jazz Workshop Jam Session
8pm-midnite hosted by SPIZ & Co.

Jazz ain't dead...I just need your help to dig it up. It was buried alive many years ago. Some say...it's still kickin.

We're in the business of providing new, challenging, and relevant jargon and vocabulary for the dying Jazz corpse. Think live jungle, idm, drumNBass, laptops, mcs, effects laid heavily upon classic jazz standards. some of the tunes we will attempt to attempt will or will not include: blue monk, epistrophy, blue seven, night in tunisia, ESP, and many many others. $5 suggested donation but give what you can. It goes to the host band members for throwing down, and use of their equipment. Drum set, amps are all provided. Bring your Keyboard and any special amps if you are pushing low/high frequencies.

This Jam is also open to open jamming. not just jazzy jazz jazz. so don't be intimidated by the the thought of a jazz jam. it ain't pretentious like that nor snobby like other spots in chicago that push jazz jams.

Hello Dave. I just joined the electro-music forum. I'd like to check out the event you mentioned for Friday. Did you mean this Friday, Jan 19? What time is the workshop and what do you do exactly? I'm building a neo- modular setup now and would like to see what's going on in the Chicago emusic scene. You're not listing it on the Muse cafe website, so I was a bit puzzled.

Hey David,
We are in fact doing several jam sessions every month.
depends on what you're interested in. we don't have anything
tonite at the cafe. it's next friday, the Chicago Junglebop Workshop
on JAn 26th. hit me up at SPIZ

Jazz---3rd thursdays. next one's Thurs Feb 15th
Jungle+Jazz---4th Fridays with The Chicago Junglebop Syndicate & Workshop

IDM/Jungle/DNB--- Sunday March 4th The Electro-Acoustic Workshop with 7 League Boots

We also have an ongoing modern session called The Jazztronik Experiment which is put together by an experimental laptop producer Don Solo which tends to be on specific tuesdays. Currently I'm attempting to plug the next date but waiting on Don for that.

Hello Spiz
"It depends what you're interested in..."
I'm mainly interested in what you might call "straight avant-garde"--i.e. atonal, non-melodic (or at most really demented melodic), non-ambient, non-rock, non-classical and non-jazz EM. Any currency for this genre at the Muse?
