I just bought a Roland MKS30 Planet S (Improved JX3P in a rack mount) for AU$15!! Shocked Cool
It was in a bit of a state, as it had experienced sudden deceleration syndrome, right onto it's face, which broke the PCB around the tuning pot, and the cartridge mount. I've fixed both though, and we have everything we need to pump out all 64 patches. (Through a beautiful dual MN3009 based on board chorus!!)
The only issue now is that I can hear some anomalies around voice assignments. There are 6 each, DCOs, VCFs, VCAs etc. and it sometimes sounds like some of them don't sound for certain notes. Does anyone know what I should do to track this down? I'm not really worried about it though, cos for $15 an MKS30 which does some odd stuff is bloody fantastic!

PS I also got a dual 10 band graphic for AU$7! Haven't even tried it yet. Very Happy

Damn. Here I was all happy with myself for snagging a Red Sound Darkstar XP2 for under $50.00 US. It was missing some knobs, has a partially broken button, and a lot of scratches to the face, but...it makes cooool sounds.

Oh I also picked up an Alesis MMT-8 sequencer the other day at a local thrift shop for $1.00! That's right one whole dollar! the plate on the back for identifying the connectors was missing, but some labels fixed that. Oh, and you guessed it, it works too.

Congrats on your find. The only thing better that bargains are the sounds made by the musical ones!
