I start really to agree that such a module must return in the G2 just because its so impossible and over expensiv to patch such a thing on the G2..
I also dont see the NM1 Filterbank as so bad sounding anymore...its really not too bad in relation to the amount of bands...

However..here is a minimal version that just needs around 20% ! oh oh... :-/

It still nowhere as steep as the Nm1 version and has less bands...but..
duo some phase changes in the circuit it gives a quite nice exciter fx...

I tried to tweek it for reasonable sound quality..and being related to the Nm1 filterbank to become a module in the patch converter...

However..if anybody has better tweaks for such a thing bring it up..just..
It should stay below 25 %...

Wouldn't the approach described by Rob on his tutorial pages be cheaper? He describes a simple method for cascading filters. Or would this differ too much sonically?

This is a pic from his site showing the idea:

Thanks for trying it out G2Ian, I was typing with one hand and juggling my 3-months old in the other, so I couldn't do it myself Very Happy

Has anyone of the Experts tryed to build a Filterbank with 16 bands and steep angles ?

VA load is NO point. ( space also )

( sorry, i was never into building filterbanks, and since i used my G2 no more for a long time i hope you got maybe allready one patched. )

Is it possible to patch something with sonic qualitis near to the one in the spectralis ?

You can just expand Ian's one and then make the filters steeper and change the frequency settings to you likings.

When you want to use control signals to dynamically alter the volumes you could do that yes, or use the Level/LevMult instead which probably is a bit cheaper.

When you just want static volumes you could chain another MixFader to the one already in the patch.

Me no expert, but this is just a simple extension of Ians patch. No idea about the sonic qualities of the spectralis either. Let us know how it compares according to you.

edit: ah, I see Blue Hell proposed already what I patched up, well, at least you don't have to do it yourself then Smile . It's no rocket science anyway, but nice to play with. Also nice to use a couple of morphs on several overlapping sets of bands, for nice effects with a few knob turns. Trying out on a laptop/with the demo now, so I am curious how this sounds on the real thing with some audio going trough...
