Delay Sync |
 |
|
Hey Folks!!
Just trying to get to grips with something below the surface on the A6 again and as usual end up wanting to chew my own foot off!!
I'm experimenting trying to get the delay fx to sync to the clock. I'm using the preset "coney Island" (I think its Pr1-061) with the arpeggiator/sequencer turned off. This sound has a really heavy and obvious delay time.
So I go into the MOD page of the digi fx and set the source to clock and then set the destination the L&R since I am running the synth out of the main mix outs in stereo.
I try the sound whilst adjusting the clock speed and it makes no difference. So I notice the Level control. When I turn this up suddenly these new, horrible delay reflections are heard and they do sync to the clock BUT I can still hear the original delay underneath (especially when I turn the level control down to about 4 or 5)....it is these original, subtle reflections that I want to sync, not the massive un-natural ones that I hear when I turn the level up!
Also, this problem aside.....when I use this sound without the MOD on and play a repeating 8th note phrase, sometimes notes just don't sound for no apparent reason!!!!
Am I completely missing something here? Or is this just another crazy bit of Alesis programming ?
Thanks guys

if i understand you , you want to sync the tempo's?
that can't be done!
all the digfx mod will give you is levelmodulation. so taking clock as source will make the clock audible but it will only sound as i kind of ticks i suppose.
with the notes not reacting ? did you put voice-allocation to rotate ( instead of oldest) ?
maybe i didn't understand the question correctly, if so help me out on it again.
the rest : yes it's sometimes difficult to see the wrongs from the bugs, guess it's about time a decent buglist appears on the net so everybody will see if she/he has to rethink things or if it's numarks-features again. |

Hi Sunny!!
Really? So it's not possible to sync the digi fx delay to the clock tempo? This is surely quite a basic and useful function on modern synths isn't it?
Thanks for your advice on the voice priority function - where do i find this? I'm think this will probably work...it does sound like a polyphony issue....you'll have to forgive me, my understanding of voices etc is not very good.....I find it a bit confusing!
thankyou

under :poly/mono switch ->assign :rotate
indeed it is, bugs and wishlist will be displayed very soon ( i'm afraid) read it and at least it'll spare a lot of people a lot of searching.
greetings, sunny |
