Well, there are beer men, there are wine men and there are whisky men, and a lot more men and not to forget about women of course. I'm a wine man myself.
But seriously, here is a noise patch, filtered the old traditional way with lots of filters.
The G2 multimode filter has this new setting of 6dB. At this setting the filter is actually an allpass/peak filter, depending on the res setting. In allpass mode it is nice to shape noise to a more pinkish colour, old trick: two in parallel, one detuned to the low extreme and the other opened to your taste. In the patch I used the PM osc as a noise source, I never really liked the noise from the noise gen. This one imho improves matters slightly, but nothing can beat analog 'junction' noise where one really hears the quantums leap.
Having them in parallel with a high res setting and 'subtracting' the outputs from each other gives two sharp peaks and the original signal pretty much suppressed. To make a full bank: 'subtract' every second next one, to keep the peaks not cancel out each other. All res setting must be the same for this to work, they're at morph 8.
The patch also shows how to work with the PartialQuantizer module. By setting the partial modules the filters are tuned to exact harmonics of the fundamental.
Well, it makes for a nice blown bottle and some more plunky and eerie stuff. Eight variations, ready to play!
