Big Multi-Tap Delay processor |

Hi all,
... so I'm stuck at home for several weeks recovering from some surgery, shambling around my apartment on crutches and learning how to walk again. I had hip replacement surgery about 17 years ago and the darn thing started to fail so they had to remove it and replace it with a new one. (I know, it sounds gruesome, but I'm OK, really). I'll be on the mend for at least a few more weeks.
The good news is my insurance will cover almost everything, I'm not in any real pain, just a little sore, and I finally have lots of free time to get back to patching and composing!
So I needed a versatile mondo-multitap delay processor patch for some stuff I'm working on, and here 'tis! The basic idea is a mono-summed two-second delay, followed by a set of four separate and parallel delays. Three of these go up to 500 msec, the fourth goes to 1 second.
It includes utility controls for overall delay output volume, selecting external audio or simple internal 'test' synth for setting up the delays, and on/off control for the dry out signal so you can use it as an in-line effects processor or patched into a console's FX return with the dry signal muted.
Also has separate HF damping controls for the main 2sec delay and the set of four parallel delays, and a crossfader for determining the ratio of dry vs. 2sec delay output being fed to the four delays.
Easiest way to set the parameters is to turn off the "MAIN DL Level", then set the "To 1-4: Dry/DL" control to DRY. This sends the dry signal to delay1 thru 4. Now turn off delays 2, 3, and 4 to set delay1, turn off 1,3, and 4 to set delay2, etc. Now turn up the "MAIN DL Level" again and set the main delay controls and the "To 1-4: DRY/DL" control. Check out the variations. Enjoy!

I like the concept, but I was unable to get this patch to do anything. I tried plugging my guitar into input 1 and 2, using a preamp, and only got the straight unprocessed guitar sound. |
