So, i finally got around to wiring up my SLMS and whoop-dee-do, it sort of works. VCO1=nada. VCO2=awesome. AR Gen=nada. LFO=ok i think. Noise= you got me man. Mixer=ok. VCF= probably VCA=most likely.
Here's the deal. VCO1 will not do anything in any position, period. VCO2 works great apart from the AR switch which leads me to... The AR Gen exists to mock me. And here i thought it was to make nice swells and fades Wink . S1 does nothing when pressed, regardless of the gate or trig positions of S3. The attack and decay pots have no effect either. The LFO works, but without everything else in order I can't completely check it, but it seems to affect VCO2 and the VCF ok. The VCF COF pot does what its supposed to, but the RES pot seems to have no effect. Also there is a sizable volume difference b/w LP and BP, LP being louder. The mixer is fine as far as i can tell. Same with the VCA. The noise generator has really got me though. I socketed Q7 so i could taste test a batch of 2N2712 work-alikes i got from smallbear. Does anyone know the pinout for these? It seems that i get some noise no matter which two legs of the thing i put where. Also, the PWM pot from VCO2 affects the noise. Very strange.
Being that I just fired this up a few minutes ago, haven't had much time to debug. But before i even applied power, wiring and component values were triple checked ok. So really this a just a frustration post before i go get elbow deep in some sound lab debugging. But if anyone got some ideas, i would LOVE to hear them.
thanks,
-justin

All is well. The IC for VCO1 was bad, so its swapped out and VCO1 is good to go. The AR Generator had a diode backwards and pin7 on the socket for the CD40106 wasn't making contact.(that's ground) Since i was measuring voltages relative to ground, it kept reading 0V on the top and bottom of the board. Took me awhile to find that one. Shocked Thanks to all who put up with my whining. Next up is mods and V/oct tuning. Anyone have any idea how to go about that? I think i have a clue but some reassurance would be cool.

If you have a Digital Multimeter or an Oscope you can use it to measure the distance between two octave is one volt, Ray has more on this on his website.
