I was doing some playing around with my g2 on my mac trying to get cubase to see it, and it appears that even with the USB Editor software installed, it does not do a virtual midi port for you over usb like alot of OTHER usb type synths do.

Am i missing something here, or is this just how they built it?
Id prefer to do midi over the g2's usb like i can with my radias, but if i cant i'll just have to resort to using another midiport of my 8port se. (which means i will have to permanently sacrifice another synth from config cause its full)

the USB port is only for the editor. you'll need a midi connection for recording data and playing them back to/from a computer.

The design of the G2 doesn´t really address DAW integration. That is not what that USB port is about. The USB port is simply for connectivity with the computer hosting the editor application
