I'm gonna make this go all over the place. superkoopa, awesome work man nice combo, nice songs. I should be getting my paia theremax today (I hope) And I always wanted to get into ham mosc and bruce, but don't know where to start. I have a cobra 29 xlr in my truck (got it at the thrifty for 10 bucks) barefoot so I don't get out too much, but I heard I could squeeze some juice out of it. Everyone just pretty much gives me a hard time. I can't even find anyone to peak and tweak the sucker. It's kinda the opposite of here, if your new and not on the ins seems like everyone just keeps you at bay. Instead of helpin out trying to find a better radio they just say "get a better radio if ya wanna run with the big dogs" hahahha _________________ "your stripes are killer bro" |

Amazing Soundlab,
A few questions:
1. You said you integrated a microphone input, how did you connect this up?
2. Did you do the Gate modification for the Theremin?
3. Are you running it off of +12 - 12 Volts?
4. Where did you get the tubes for the Theremin?
once again awesome work, and a great video. |

1 If you look at the original guitar trigger schematics, there is a spare op amp of the LF444. I've used this in series with the guitar trigger input as a x100 inverting amplifier.
2 No ,i didn't. in the video I use the pitch CV output as gate source (if you look at the video you can see that i use my right hand to trigger the sounds and the left to change the VCF frequency)
3 yes.
4 no tubes , it's a PAIA theremax ,for more informations go to : http://paia.com/theremax.asp
Good luck, Bye! |

I meant to ask where you got the antenna not the tubes sorry.
Did you pick them up at a local hardware shop or buy them from a store? |

Ok!
tubes = Electronic valves but also =home-made antennas!
It was very hard to find those pieces of tubes. On every theremin-related forum, like thereminworld.com ,everyone says that the best solution is 3/8" tubes (used for oil pumps , air conditioning...) and compression fittings.
3/8" tubes seems unavailable in italy so i've used 6mm tubes from a local store. The compression fittings seems also disappeared from the face of earth ,so i've used a different fitting, but i can't explain with words how that's is made. Maybe I will post a photo later... |
