Just checking: is it possible to hack the forum so that there is some kind of extra marker on forums that can contain other forums as well as topics? The only forum I know of where this happens is How-Tos, and it has happened several times that I've browsed all topics in the subforums (Production, Manuals), and wondered why the How-To icon stayed brownish orange. Then I remember that there are topics there as well, and I find old interesting discussions that I've missed.

If there was an extra marker next to How-Tos, or - more drastically - if it was marked white when its topics are read even though there are subforums that have unread posts, then I (and maybe others as well) would be more aware of the How-Tos posts.

Just a thought.

I use http://electro-music.com/forum/search.php?search_id=newposts all the time and then I click on the orange thingies in the 2nd column to go to the latest post in that thread.

Would that help you as well ?
