Having read these forums for a long time I know there are lots of smart people here.

I've got a question for you because I don't feel all that clever at the moment.

How do you patch a OscNoise oscillator? I mean, if one didn't already exist.

I've tried modulating the pitch of a sine osc with noise going through a NoteQuant module (to get the 2 octave wide spread) and to a certain degree it sounds sort of like an OscNoise but I can't get it right. It is either too hissy or too 'warbly'.

The amplitude of the OscNoise varies quite a lot when it is set to its most narrow setting and that made me try mixing in a second sine osc and the phase cancellation makes it a bit closer but still no cigar.

If you mute the OscNoise it fades out instead of just cutting off wich sugests a close to self oscillating filter ringing out after its input being silenced. I can't get that to work either Sad

Does anyone know how to patch it?

I don't know, but I always thought of it to be bandfiltered noise. Must say though that I've never got quite that sound that way either ...

Don't these two sound pretty similar?

Hello Antimon.

It sound identical to me. It 'rings out' just like the OscNoise as well.

However that is just one specific width. I guess we need some kind of super duper special filter. Guess it is time to read up on Robs filter primer.
