I just bought the MP4 and there are several things I don't understand after reading the manual. Anyone out there who can help answer these questions?

1. When the MP4 is turned it defaults to the Grand Piano. However, it has a vibrato effect which I don't like at all. I found how to use the Mid CC# knob C to turn this off. I would like to save the standard Grand Piano sound like this so I don't have to turn this off each time.

2. In fact all the standard piano sounds seem to have this vibrato. I want to disable this for all sounds. Is there a way to do this? I a Reset All and it seems to include this vibrato. I don't understand why this is the design. Can you explain?

3. I want to use this as an midi instrument. It does seem to be found on my computer. Is there a USB driver specific to the MP4? Or do I just use the built-in Windows XP driver?

4. Are there or will there every be any firmware update for the MP4? I'm wondering if the code in the MP4 can be changed.

Thanks for any help!

... Mark

are you sure the modulation wheel is all the way down Question sorry for asking Wink btw I am a MP4 owner and never experienced anything like that except when my son comes near it and moves the abovementioned wheel Wink

Seraph:

You are most certainly correct. Silly me. Thanks for pointing out the obvious. Embarassed

I've read your earlier review of the MP4. I agree. I do like mine but haven't done much yet.

By the way, do you use the standard USB driver for it for midi or is there anything better?

All the best

PS: Firenze is my favorite city. I'm planning on taking the wife next time.

when I bought it, one of the reasons was its USB port but I ended up using the regular MIDI ports because I have hardware synths that I can play without having to turn my computer on.
so, did you fix your problem Question Very Happy
