any particular error messages?
If you go into Activity Monitor, do you see the process running?
Activity Monitor is in applications/utilities

If you look in that utilities folder there is also a "console" utility. You could try running this utility when you try to start Numerology and see if any error messages pop up.

Numerology requires Mac OS X, version 10.3.9 or later. Hardware requirements vary based on the number of modules you plan to use and whether or not you use Audio Units. Any system with a PPC G4 chip at 1Ghz or better is recommended, but if you only work with MIDI than a G3 500Mhz may be sufficient. Numerology 1.4.3 will work on an Intel Mac under Rosetta, but is not supported for AudioUnit hosting in that configuration.

Another question, are you trying to run in demo mode?
