Well, the topic has come up a few times and people want to know how to get started using these wonderful devices in synthesizer DIY work. The days of designing with small scale TTL and CMOS logic elements may be numbered and might be a good investment in ones time to get a text or two on the subject. These are two very good books to get you started. The rest are just good web sites:
