a trigger IN midi OUT gear ? Subject description: looking for some gear with midi out and trig IN |
|
|
Hi
I am looking for some hardware gear which would be equipped with midi out port and a trigger IN port.
I have several midi gear, and also some drum machines with trig out, but nothing with trig in to make it all play together.
Would you have any advice of such a thing ?
THanks ! |

Hi
Thank you for your quick answer !
The purpose is mainly syncing (more than triggering), i would like to send a constant trig note that could be understood as a midi tempo signal by my daw.
Would you know if there is there any specific module dedicated to this task ?
Or could i go for the cheapest one to do that job ?
thanx |

?
I don't get it : I think i have understood what i've read, but what's the relation with the thread ?
I mean : my drum machine is PRE-midi, so it doesn't send any miodi clock message, it can only send trig OUT, so, to use it as a master tempo, i have to find a way to convert trig out to midi clock. As some daw/plugin can convert midi messages to tempo messages, i need to convert trig OUT to any message.
Does this make sense ? |

it does, I had not understood your drum machine was pre-midi. _________________ homepage - blog - forum - youtube

Hi! I have a similar question
i own a Korg Rhythm 55 drum machine, a Roland MC202 sequencer and a Korg KMS-30 Midi synchronizer and would like to sync the drum machine with the sequencer. is it possible?

AS your drum machine only have trigger out, i think it is the only gear able to act as "master" clock, and you have to get the mc-202 be the slave and receive a constant trigger from the korg55.
Beware with the 24/48ppqn conversion. |

yeah, you're right. what i don't know is how to connect them. the korg rhythm55 has a JACK-type output and the roland mc202 has a DIN-type input
that's what confuses me

din is din
midi is midi
and jack is fro triggering, you can use any audio cable
you can't connect trig to din or din to midi or whatever else. |
