Wow! that's some choice usage of parts there!

Oh, and sorry about posting this in the wrong section. I keep reading "conversion" as "conversation".

Yeah, I moved it here from "conversion" to avoid "confusion". :¬p

Hey Kas,

these are awesome! I always thought of the Nord like Lego for sound (actually this is how I explain the Nord Modular to people who don't know what modular or synthesis means) Smile

Now, I'm sure this guy could create a patch out of Lego's ... the connectors should be easy ... the patch cords might be too short Smile

Edit - let's create some patches in Lego now!!! -> http://ldd.lego.com/download/

Kas, I look forward to meeting you in person when I'm in Holland (and at modular event 2007 in Belgium) ...
/Dasz

ps.: OT - mini moog modular from lego (not as creative as the nord tho ...) -- http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/hidaka/synthesizer2/synthe11.jpg

Yeah, as a child I played with Lego as well. Then I grew up and felt too grown up for it. Fortunately I am now so mature that I can buy Lego again.

I grew up with Lego's too -- leaning more on the generic ones, and not the ones where all you build is one specific heavily marketed thing (these were a source of cool parts, tho).

After Lego, I moved onto the Commodore VIC-20.

Of course Legos are great, but I have some of these:

http://www.zolo.com/

and I think they are even better. They look like the way the NM sounds.

I know what you mean but...

I started getting back int Lego when a few years ago me& a friend saw some of the earlier generations of this new series of more "character-like" kits that are based around Technics parts and conections. I think you had "throwbots" and "robo-riders" back then. We were intruiged, some sets were discounted so we both got some and sat down to build them. This was a realy interesting experience. Because things would conect in new ways, at odd angles it was like our brains had to adjust to some new logic, kinda like learning a new programing language. At first we disliked those larger parts that seem to have only one function but after a while you get used to them and then some of those parts are realy very usefull and versatile. With the new stuff it's much easier to work with odd angles and get more well-rounded organic shapes.

The series that I'm into now is the "Exo-force" robots that are inspirered by those Japanes cartoon Mechs. Whoever is designing those is doing a excelent job and re-using lots of older parts that had very speciffic functions back then in new ways.

I'm also a bit in love with this one; http://creator.lego.com/en-gb/Products/Creator/4915.aspx it's so small but insanely well designed and all of the pieces are fun so it's cool to see how much you can do with so few pieces (quite a bit with some puzeling).

that's cool... my lego days were a loooong time ago.

I did install the lego designer (link posted a few post ago) yesterday to check out the UI design. It is ok but not enough shortcuts and navigation could be better (as could the toolkit). In all I didn't find it as intuitive as I'm used to (Nord modular editors) so I uninstalled it.

You can start again! To me playing with Lego, especially trying o get the most out of a limited amount and selection of pieces always feels like a great mental excerisise. It's all interconecting modules, like the NM's but it's in 3d so it stimulates in a different way.

I did not have Lego myself, but when I was about 12 (late fifties) I used to build big hotels and shoppingmalls at my friends house.
