I'm using Csound gui for my programming and I have a little issue. Why is it that when I compile the code and I have an error somewhere, Csound gui closes and I cannot see what the error was in the compiler log?

There might not be many really active csound users here. Have you looked for csound forums or mailing lists? I think they would be better equipped to help you.

I believe this is a known issue. Somehow developer support for csound5gui.exe has ceased and there has been talk of leaving it out of future releases. A shame in my opinion as it was my preferred way of rendering.

So I guess use the command line or another gui.

I have the same problem. I like the gui for 5.xx but it's useless for debugging. Since I'm still writing using the old two file (orc and sco) format, if there's something wrong I run it through 4.xx to find the error.

There are heaps of really annoying bugs in that csoud5gui...

- It crashes after compiling.
- Sometimes the sco edit button doesn't work.
- Sometimes the messages window doesn't pop up.
- The options menu dropdown lists for audio and midi devices don't populate properly.

I've started doing my csound on my linux box because I got so sick of trying to get a working frontend in windows.
