Hi All!
I'm pretty new here.
I've been lurking for a while, but waited to post untill I received my G2. Well... I received it yesterday! This thing is just fantastic & the interface is amazing! Crazy what you can do with al those morph-groups & stuff...
But I have some small questions...
* Is there a way to adjust the display-contrast of the LCD's?
* The left display (the master display I guess) becomes rather hot
after a couple of hours (especially on the rightside).
but when it gets hot, it also turns darker & darker making it difficult to read from certain angles. anyone else have that same problem? |

Welcome to electro-music.com, Mother Misty.
I'm curious. Were you able to resolve this hot display problem? |

Hi Mosc!
Actually I have! But I haven't done anything about it!?!
At one day, the display didn't get hot anymore, really, really, strange?
(I hope this problem doesn't return after some time!)
I have my G2 a couple of weeks now, and had it on +- 6 to 8 houres a day, no problem so far...)
The main dial is still a bit loose, but I've compared it to a NL3 (the knob is also a bit loose?!) so i guess this is normal behaviour?? |

I guess so. My G2's main knob seems a bit loose too. I never noticed it before you mentioned it.
My pitch stick also moves from side to side.
Anyhow, glad your hot panel problem cured itself... |

my data dial knob broke
But, as Rob told me, Clavia is aware that the data dial knob is the weak part in the nord design.
I quote him from a private email he sent me (I hope I may, Rob):
Quote: | At Clavia they do know very well that the dial is such a weak spot, they send replacement ones over immediately without asking further questions. I told Hans Nordelius on several occasions that he should reinforce the back and he said he talked about it with Bourns, their supplier, to fit some metal casing around the dials. But it seems Bourns doesn't care much, as Hans said that Bourns wanted Clavia to pay for all (unknown) development costs. Big corporation capitalism in action. |
